Hi, I thoroughly believe in empowering and supporting others to develop a robust and varied way of nurturing their mental health for the better. Many of the challenges we face are the result of our context and understandable responses to the difficulties we face. I aim to provide a sensitive, responsive, warm, non-judgemental space for people to share their experiences. I work with cultural sensitivity and the individuals’ wider environment in mind and ensure that those I sit with feel respected, heard and supported on their journey. I can appreciate the intensity that life can sometimes bring whether that be due to work, relationships or other personal conflicts. As such, I hope to encourage people I work with to meet their needs and consider carefully how best to balance the demands of life.

Experience
Delivering Psychological Therapy and trauma focused medico-legal reports.

I have several years experience in the NHS, Third Sector and more recently, private practice. This experience spans person centered formulations, psychological assessments and delivering evidence based treatments for children, young people, adults and families. Most recently, my work with a specialist NHS Feeding Team in London involves supporting families and children with restrictive eating, This entails understanding the family structure and relationship to food, implementing evidence based therapies to address restrictive feeding, sensory difficulties, anxiety, food phobias and adjustment difficulties.
In tandem with this, I work for a Human Rights Charity for survivors of human cruelty, state torture, human trafficking and exploitation. This specialist trauma work involves the use of narrative therapy and EMDR primarily. The most important part of this role is adopting a person centered approach to sensitively help individuals to rebuild their lives and find a space to feel safe after unspeakable experiences of abuse.

Both roles require me to be responsive, adaptable and respectful. I often work under large amounts of pressure and high levels of clinical risk. With each aspect of my role, I ensure whomever I work with feels supported, heard and respected.

Models and Mediums of treatment
I start each piece of work in a person centered manner. Pending on the difficulties shared, I would adopt a variety of therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness for individuals. Online sessions are currently the method I use.

Qualifications and Memberships
I am a recognised Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC My Doctorate in Clinical Psychology comes from University College London (UCL) which was ranked 2nd in the world for psychology in 2020. I have a Masters in Mental Health Studies from King’s College University of London (MSc), A PGDip in Low Intensity CBT and a degree in Psychology from Bedfordshire University, (BSc).
Research
I have completed many research projects including a service evaluation for evidence-based trauma therapy, a study investigating the efficacy of the therapeutic intervention within the asylum seeker and Refugee population.  More recently, I contributed to a study exploring the efficacy of NET with survivors of human trafficking. My future plans for therapy involve further exploration of trauma focused therapies and the role of modulated evidence-based interventions within the context of restrictive feeding.
Summary
I am a qualified, experienced Chartered Psychologist but you remain the expert of your experiences. My goal is to utilise my clinical experience to draw out the skills and strengths you possess. During the therapeutic sessions, I aim to contribute strategies to help deepen your resilience and ability to cope. I consider our time together to be a collaborative therapeutic relationship, through which we will work towards your goals of overcoming the challenges you are facing.
